Standards lead the Chinese Medicine Academic Innovation Development Summit Forum

Today, jointly sponsored by the China Association of Science and Technology and the provincial government, the China Association of Chinese Medicine, the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, the Provincial Association of Chinese Medicine, and the Changchun University of Traditional Chinese Medicine jointly organized the “Standards Leading Chinese Medicine Academic Innovation Development Summit Forum” held in Changchun. This forum is one of the academic exchange activities of the annual meeting of the China Association for Science and Technology. More than 100 academicians, experts and representatives from the business sector participated in the forum.

 

At the forum, we watched a short video of the famous Chinese medicine practitioners and Chinese medicine experts who made suggestions on the standardization of Chinese medicine. Li Lianda, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and chief researcher of the Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, combined with 60 years of medical experience, discussed the "Top Ten Problems of Traditional Chinese Medicine." He believes that contemporary Chinese medicine is developing from experience medicine to precision medicine. In this process, standards must be established, especially the safety and effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine as the primary standard. Huang Yiqi, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and executive vice president of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, gave a keynote report on the status quo of Chinese medicine standardization and its thinking. It focused on the status quo of Chinese medicine standardization, the progress of Chinese medicine standardization work, and the dilemma faced by Chinese medicine standardization. Other participating experts exchanged ideas with the guests on how to do a good job in the system construction, platform construction and mechanism construction of academic innovation and development.
